iPhone only 1 major gripe, Shure earbuds don't fit

Apple really messed up on one area of the iPhone.  For my ipod I have real nice Shure E3C noise canceling earphones.  So I go to plug them into my iPhone.  ARGH!  They don't fit.  Did a quick search on google, doesn't look like there is an adapter on the market for them.  Apple or Shure better come out with one quick or there's going to be alot of upset customers.  If anyone knows of an adapter post or send me a link.  Thanks.
